Chicago White Sox
South Side baseball, serious tailgating, and Elote in a Helmet. The G-Spot doesn't disappoint.
Upcoming Events
Guaranteed Rate Field might have one of the more corporate names in baseball, but don't let that fool you. The South Side ballpark brings a completely different energy than its North Side neighbor, and the fans will be the first to tell you about it. White Sox fans are ride-or-die loyal, and they've got the attitude to prove it.
The tailgating scene in the parking lots around the G-Spot (yeah, that's what people call it) is some of the best in baseball. Grills going, coolers packed, and everyone's got an opinion on the roster. It's blue-collar baseball at its finest, and you'll feel right at home whether you've been a fan for decades or you're showing up for the first time.
Inside the park, the food game is strong. Elote in a Helmet - Mexican street corn served in a mini batting helmet - is the move. The craft beer selection has gotten way better in recent years too. And if you're sitting in the upper deck, the skyline view of downtown Chicago is genuinely stunning.
The 2005 World Series sweep is still the crown jewel. Four games, four wins, zero doubt. Sox fans don't get enough credit for that run, and they'll happily remind you about it. If you want authentic Chicago baseball without the tourist crowds, the South Side is calling your name.
