Comerica Park is the crown jewel of Detroit's downtown revival. The giant tiger statues guarding the entrance, the Ferris wheel and carousel in the outfield - this isn't just a ballpark, it's a full-on experience. And when the lights come on at night and you can see the skyline behind center field, it's one of the prettiest sights in baseball.
Tigers fans are old-school loyal. This city has been through some tough stretches, but the fans never left. The 2006 and 2012 World Series runs had Comerica Park shaking, and the energy from those seasons set a standard that the fanbase still holds every team to. Detroit doesn't do fair-weather fandom.
The food at Comerica is next level. You're getting a coney dog - specifically a Detroit-style coney with that meaty sauce, mustard, and onions. If you want to go bigger, the slow-smoked brisket from the BBQ stand in the concourse is ridiculous. Wash it all down with a Bell's Two Hearted from the craft beer section and you're living right.
Before the game, walk over to Greektown for a gyro at Pegasus or swing by Slows Bar BQ if you want the best barbecue in the city. After the game, Bookies Bar across the street from the park is where everybody ends up. Detroit is a baseball town that's been doing this for over a century. You can feel that history the moment you walk in.
