LoanDepot Park is one of the more underrated ballpark experiences in baseball. The retractable roof means you're always comfortable (critical when Miami decides to dump rain on you mid-game), and the interior has a modern, almost nightclub-like feel that's distinctly Miami. The home run sculpture in center field - love it or hate it - is unlike anything else in baseball.
The Marlins have a wild history of winning World Series titles with teams that got immediately dismantled afterward. Twice they've done this. It's the most Marlins thing possible, and the fans who stuck around through all the roster fires deserve a medal. The loyalty runs deeper than the record shows.
The food at LoanDepot Park leans hard into Miami's Latin roots, and it's all the better for it. Cuban sandwiches, empanadas, and croquetas are all over the concourse. The pastelitos are sneaky good too. Pair everything with a Veza Sur cerveza and you're eating better than most people at any stadium in America.
Before the game, Little Havana is right there - walk down Calle Ocho for a cafecito at Versailles and soak in the neighborhood. After the game, Brickell and Wynwood are short rides away and both are loaded with bars and restaurants open late. Miami might not be the first city you think of for baseball, but the combination of the stadium, the food, and the postgame options make it a seriously fun night out.
