Scotiabank Arena holds about 18,819 for hockey and has been sold out consistently for decades regardless of what the team is doing on the ice. The Maple Leafs last won the Stanley Cup in 1967 - a 57-year drought and counting - and the fan base has perfected the art of hope and heartbreak in roughly equal measure. The tickets are genuinely the most expensive in the NHL on average, which does not stop the building from filling up every October through April and sometimes into May.
The Rec Room on Bremner Boulevard and Real Sports Bar on York Street are the premier pregame destinations for Leafs games. Real Sports is a cavernous space with screens everywhere and a menu that handles the crowd capacity. The area around Scotiabank Arena in the South Core neighborhood has developed significantly in the last decade with restaurants and bars within easy walking distance of the building. Union Station is a five-minute walk and provides GO Transit and TTC access from across the region.
Despite everything, a playoff game at Scotiabank Arena is one of the best hockey experiences in the league. The crowd carries genuine anguish and genuine hope in the same breath, and when a Leafs playoff run gets going the city of Toronto tilts on its axis. The Rogers Centre next door means the area regularly handles multiple major events simultaneously - plan accordingly for parking and rideshare.
Maple Leafs tickets move fast whether the team is good or not. Check availability through Evil Tickets and grab your seats before someone else does.
