San Antonio Spurs
Five titles, Pop's system, and Mi Tierra at midnight. Spurs basketball is quiet dominance in the best way.

Frost Bank Center (formerly the AT&T Center, because San Antonio loves renaming things) is where the San Antonio Spurs built one of the most quietly dominant dynasties in NBA history. Five championships, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker, and a system so beautiful it made basketball purists weep. Pop coached it all, and the fans appreciated every fundamental, perfectly-executed possession (and a tad boring? Only if you hate beautiful basketball).
Spurs fans are unique in the NBA. They're knowledgeable without being loud about it. They appreciate ball movement and team defense the way other fanbases appreciate flashy dunks. But don't mistake quiet appreciation for lack of passion - when the Spurs are in a close game and the arena starts chanting "Go Spurs Go," the energy is real and building fast.
The Frost Bank Center is on the east side of town, so pregame requires a bit of planning. The River Walk downtown is the obvious recommendation - grab dinner at Mi Tierra for incredible Tex-Mex (the restaurant is open 24 hours and decorated like Christmas year-round). Watch The Alamo before attending a game to get fired up - you're in San Antonio, after all. The Battle of the Alamo is baked into the city's identity, and the Spurs carry that same never-quit energy.
After the game, the River Walk bars and restaurants have you covered. The Esquire Tavern is one of the best cocktail bars in Texas. Come for the basketball, stay for the breakfast tacos. Pop would approve. Find Spurs tickets on Evil Tickets.
