American Airlines Center is one of the better NBA arenas in the country and the Mavs have given it a real identity since Luka arrived. The building holds about 19,200 and the atmosphere on a playoff run is legitimately electric - the MFFL energy has always been real. The venue is well-designed with good sightlines from both the upper and lower decks.
Luka Doncic has a gift that is hard to explain until you see it live. The hesitation, the step-back three at the buzzer, the way he plays slowly until suddenly he is at the rim - it reads differently in person than it does on screen. Add Kyrie Irving to that and the Mavericks have the kind of offensive firepower that makes every possession watchable.
Victory Park around the arena has developed into a real neighborhood over the years. There are bars and restaurants right outside the doors and the DART light rail at Victory Station makes the commute easy from downtown Dallas and surrounding areas. If you are driving from the suburbs, plan for the freeway access backing up on big game nights - building in 30-45 minutes of buffer is the right call.
Deep Ellum is 15 minutes away and worth a pre-game dinner if you have time - the brisket at Pecan Lodge is the answer to any food question in Dallas, even when the question is "what should I eat before watching Luka play."
