Philadelphia Eagles
The Philly Special, greased poles, and a fanbase that will boo Santa. The Linc is not for the faint of heart.
Upcoming Events
Lincoln Financial Field - the Linc - is where Philadelphia's football obsession reaches its peak, and that's saying something in a city that's obsessed with all its sports teams. Eagles fans are the most intense, most vocal, most unapologetically passionate fans in the NFL. They will boo Santa Claus. They will boo their own quarterback. And then they'll defend both decisions with articulate, well-reasoned arguments. That's Philly.
The Super Bowl LII win over the Patriots in 2018 unleashed something primal in this city. The Philly Special - a trick play on fourth down in the Super Bowl with Nick Foles catching the ball - became an instant legend. The celebration that followed might have been the biggest party in Philadelphia history. Light poles were greased. It didn't matter. Eagles fans climbed them anyway.
The tailgate at the Linc is aggressive in the best way. The parking lots surrounding the sports complex become a sea of midnight green, with grills cranking out cheesesteaks, roast pork sandwiches, and enough Italian-American food to fuel a small city. These tailgates are competitive - people have legit setups with TVs, sound systems, and portable bars.
Before the game, Xfinity Live! in the sports complex is the obvious pregame spot. After the game, head to East Passyunk or Fishtown for some of the best bars and restaurants in Philadelphia. If you're visiting from out of town, don't wear the wrong jersey. Eagles fans respect toughness and confidence, so if you're going to rep your team, own it. But don't say we didn't warn you. Fly Eagles Fly.
