Kansas City Royals
Fountains, the Z-Man sandwich, and the nicest fans in baseball. Kauffman Stadium is pure class.
Upcoming Events
Kauffman Stadium is one of those places that just feels like baseball. The fountains spraying beyond the outfield, the open concourse with sightlines from everywhere, and the crown-shaped scoreboard lighting up at night - it's classic and beautiful and it never tries to be something it's not.
Royals fans might be the nicest people in sports, but don't mistake friendly for soft. When this team is rolling, The K gets loud. The 2014-2015 back-to-back World Series runs turned this whole city upside down. Kansas City went from "oh, the Royals" to "yeah, the Royals just won the whole thing." That energy never fully went away.
You cannot go to a game at Kauffman without eating BBQ. This is Kansas City. BBQ is a religion here. There's a Joe's Kansas City stand inside the stadium, and the Z-Man sandwich (brisket, smoked provolone, an onion ring, and BBQ sauce) might be the best thing you eat at any stadium anywhere. Bold claim, but we're standing by it.
Before the game, make the drive to Joe's KC (originally Oklahoma Joe's, at the gas station - yes, a gas station) for the full experience. After the game, the Power & Light District downtown is a 15-minute drive and has everything you need for the postgame celebration. Kansas City is a baseball town that doesn't get enough national love. Show up and fix that.
