The LA Memorial Coliseum is one of the greatest sports venues on the planet. This place hosted two Olympics, two Super Bowls, and roughly a century of USC football. When you walk through those peristyle arches on a fall Saturday, you're entering a building that has more history per square foot than almost any stadium in America. And the Trojans treat it like their personal palace.
USC game days are an event. The tailgates on the campus surrounding the Coliseum are legendary - think luxury SUVs with catered spreads, students in cardinal and gold, and Traveler (the white horse mascot) leading the team into the stadium while the Trojan Marching Band fires up "Fight On." It's Hollywood meets college football, and the production value is off the charts.
The Trojans have one of the most successful programs in college football history. Heisman Trophy winners line the walls, and the rivalry games - against UCLA, Notre Dame, and the rest of the Pac-12 (or whatever it's called now) - bring energy levels that shake the Coliseum to its foundation. USC vs. Notre Dame is one of the greatest rivalries in all of sports.
Before the game, the campus tailgate is where you want to be. After the game, the bars on Figueroa and in downtown LA are packed with fans. If you want the full experience, grab a Tommy's Burger afterward - it's an LA institution and the chili cheeseburger hits different at midnight after a Trojans win. Fight On.
