Ball Arena is Denver's big room - home to the NBA's Nuggets, the NHL's Avalanche, the NLL's Mammoth, and a concert calendar that pulls in some of the biggest names in music all year long. It's right off Auraria Parkway, walking distance from downtown and a quick light rail ride from practically anywhere in the metro area. Location-wise, you genuinely can't beat it for a major arena.

The arena holds about 20,000 for concerts and the setup is flexible enough to handle everything from massive arena tours to more intimate configurations that make it feel smaller than it is. The sound has gotten significantly better in recent years after some solid upgrades, and the upper deck actually has decent sightlines (something you can't say about every arena built in the '90s). For Nuggets games, the energy since the 2023 championship has been absolutely electric - this city waited decades for that title and the fans are still riding the high every single game night.

For pregame fuel, you've got some solid options within walking distance that you should take advantage of. Tap Fourteen is right there on Auraria for craft beers and a good burger before tipoff. If you're willing to walk a few blocks into LoHi, hit up Linger for something more upscale with killer views of the downtown skyline. And if you just want cheap beer and a no-frills sports bar atmosphere, Jackson's Lodo on 20th is always reliable and never disappoints before a big game.
