Nashville Sporting Events

It’s not all about music. Nashville is home to two professional sports teams, the Tennessee Titans and Nashville Predators. These two teams will keep you plenty busy with sporting events in Nashville.

Tennessee Titans

In 1997, the Houston Oilers jumped ship to Nashville, eventually becoming the Titans you know today. The Tennessee Titans have had some greats come through their locker room, including quarterback Steve McNair and running back Eddie George.

Unfortunately, the closest they came to a Super Bowl was in 1999 when wide receiver Kevin Dyson was tackled one yard short of the end zone to prevent the game-tying touchdown against the St. Louis Rams.

A heartbreak for America, the play went down in infamy as simply The Tackle.

Nowadays, you can catch a Titans at Nissan Stadium, located on the east bank of the Cumberland River directly across from Nashville.

Approved bags: Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12.” One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar), Small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap, may be carried into the stadium along with one of the clear bag options.

Parking: Though there’s plenty of parking at the stadium, if you’re going to be drinking, we encourage you to take an Uber or make your buddy DD.

Nashville Predators

Entering the NHL as an expansion team in 1998, the Predators play their homes at Bridgestone Arena in downtown Nashville. After a rocky start of seven losing seasons, the Predators found their groove.

Though they have made it to the playoffs several times, they still haven’t raised the Stanley Cup. But hey, it’s always fun to cheer for the opposing players getting their teeth knocked out, right?

Bags Policy: Backpacks and large bags are prohibited, but small bags are OK and you can bring one empty water bottle. Signs are kosher if they’re no bigger than 2’x3’ and tasteful. Keep the selfie sticks at home though, guys
