Jay-Z is in the building. Or was. Or will be again very soon. Because that's the thing about Madison Square Garden - everybody plays here. Everybody WANTS to play here. It's the most famous arena in the world and it's earned that title through decades of hosting the biggest, most memorable moments in music, sports, and entertainment history. When an artist says they're playing MSG, it still means something profound.
The Garden sits on top of Penn Station in the heart of midtown Manhattan, and the energy inside is unlike any other arena anywhere on Earth. Knicks games are a spectacle of celebrities and die-hard fans who've been faithfully suffering since 1973 but keep showing up every single game because that's what New Yorkers do. Rangers games get deafening in the best way. And concerts here carry a weight that's genuinely hard to describe - Billy Joel literally has an ongoing residency where the man just shows up and plays MSG whenever he wants. That tells you everything about this building's significance.
For pre-show food, get out of Penn Station immediately and walk a few blocks in any direction. Koreatown is right there on 32nd Street - Miss Korea BBQ does incredible Korean barbecue that'll fuel you for the entire night, or Turntable Chicken Jazz does phenomenal Korean fried chicken with live jazz music. If you want classic New York, grab a slice at Joe's Pizza on 7th Avenue and eat it while walking to the Garden. That's the proper, authentic way to do it.
There's nothing quite like a night at MSG. The history, the energy, the crowd, the moment you walk in and realize you're in THE building where it all happens. Find what's happening on Evil Tickets and experience it for yourself.
