Aladdin Theater
A 1928 movie palace in SE Portland, restored and shrunk down to a 600-seat listening room. This is where singer-songwriters and quiet-loud bands get the attentive seated crowd they actually deserve.

The Aladdin is a restored 1928 movie palace in the Woodstock neighborhood of SE Portland, holding around 600 and built for acts that genuinely reward paying attention. Think indie, Americana, folk, and world music, heavy on singer-songwriters and bands that hit completely different when the room is seated and listening instead of talking over them. It's one of the city's best intimate mid-size rooms for exactly that reason.
The restoration kept the old theater character but added a proper stage and an updated sound system, and you've got seating that ranges from traditional theater rows to table areas right near the stage. If it's a quieter show, the table spots up front are the play; for a fuller band, anywhere in the house works fine thanks to the intimate scale and clean sightlines.
Being in Woodstock means walkable spots for a drink or a bite before doors, so you're not stranded out by the venue with nowhere to go. Show up, eat nearby, settle in, and let the room do the work. Pull up the Aladdin Theater calendar on Evil Tickets and grab a seat for your next Portland music evening.
