Toyota Center is a well-run arena that earns its reputation as one of the better mid-size concert venues in Texas. The 18,300-seat capacity means you're not swallowed by the building - even the upper level feels connected to the floor for big shows. Rockets games here have been worth watching as the team builds around a young core, and the arena atmosphere picks up when Houston is rolling.
The downtown Houston location is convenient from most of the inner loop, and there's a decent cluster of bars and restaurants within walking distance. The METRORail red line stops at the nearby Convention Center station, which is a solid option if you're coming from Midtown or the Texas Medical Center area. Parking in the downtown garages and surface lots is plentiful but prices spike on sellout nights - plan ahead or take the rail.
