Dos Equis Pavilion is the main outdoor concert destination for the Dallas area and it books a heavy summer schedule of major touring acts. The covered pavilion seats about 7,000 under the roof, and the lawn extends back to around 20,000 total capacity. Lawn tickets are a good deal if you want to spread out - bring a blanket and get there early enough to claim a spot with a decent sightline to the stage.
Fair Park in East Dallas is where this venue lives, and the drive in and parking situation is manageable by Texas amphitheater standards. Get there 45-60 minutes early and you'll have no problems. Summer heat is the real factor - shows start at 7:30 or 8pm for a reason, but the Texas heat doesn't fully let go until well into the evening. Hydrate, dress accordingly, and the pavilion experience is worth it.
