Revolution Hall
A 1925 high school gym turned 1,000-cap music hall in Buckman. Original wood floors, big ceilings, and that wide-open gymnasium feel that gives every show room to breathe. Old building, great sound.

They took the gym at the old Washington High School, a 1925 building, and turned it into one of Portland's best mid-size rooms, and they were smart enough to keep the good bones: original wood floors, high ceilings, and that gymnasium openness you simply can't fake in a new build. About 1,000 capacity, booking national indie, folk, alternative, and Americana acts alongside locals, with film screenings, comedy, and special events filling in the rest of the calendar.
The move on a clear evening is the Roof Deck, open roughly April through October, with cocktails, craft beers, pizza, and a 360-degree view that catches both downtown and Mt. Tabor. Earlier in the day, Martha's Cafe at the corner of the building does coffee and breakfast with a dog-friendly porch. Show up early and use the roof while the light's still good.
The venue sits in Buckman, reachable by bus from downtown and ringed by the neighborhood's bars and restaurants, so pre-show plans basically make themselves. Browse the Revolution Hall lineup on Evil Tickets and catch a show in one of the city's most genuinely interesting rooms.
