Neumos
Small and intimate, just the way we like it. It's famous in Seattle for a reason, and not only a fan favorite but an artist favorite too.

Neumos is Seattle's beating heart of independent live music, and the fact that the Shins and Yeah Yeah Yeahs have both graced this stage should tell you everything you need to know about the caliber of talent that comes through here regularly. At around 650 capacity, this Capitol Hill venue is the kind of room where you discover bands that are about to blow up - and where established artists choose to play small because the energy and the crowd are just better here.
The room itself is raw in the best possible way - exposed brick, dim lighting, a stage that's close enough to the crowd that you can feel the heat from the drummer's sweat. This is not a polished arena experience and that's entirely the point of Neumos. The booking covers indie rock, electronic, hip-hop, punk, and everything in between with no genre snobbery, and every show has this crackling, packed-house intensity that makes Capitol Hill one of the best music neighborhoods in the entire country.
Speaking of Capitol Hill - the neighborhood is absolutely loaded with pregame spots that are worth the trip even without a show. Linda's Tavern is a classic dive bar a couple blocks away (Kurt Cobain was reportedly last seen there, which is either a selling point or not depending on your perspective). Rancho Bravo is the go-to for cheap, excellent late-night tacos that hit every time. And if you want something nicer before the show, Altura does Italian tasting menus that'll make you feel very sophisticated before you go headbang at Neumos.
If you care about live music the way Seattle cares about live music, Neumos is essential and non-negotiable. Check what's coming up on Evil Tickets and support the venues that keep the scene alive.
